The Gerda® Contemporary Doorset Range is a high-specification flat entrance fire doorset range, designed for externally-sited flat or apartment entrance doorsets. These steel-insulated fire doorsets combine fire resistance, smoke control, and enhanced security with excellent thermal insulation, noise reduction, and protection against the elements.

All doorsets are performance tested at UKAS-accredited test houses and documented on the Declaration of Performance. The range carries dual certification for fire resistance and security, making it a reliable, compliant, and high-performance choice for residential flat entrances.

Our Contemporary doorsets offer clean streamlined styles, complemented by the simplicity and elegance of the doorset furniture in the satin chrome finish.

The doorset knocker is commissioned specifically by us to be slimline yet robust. Lightweight door knockers often do not offer the clarity of sound, and we wanted to improve on this.

Our door knockers offer resilience, clarity of sound and sturdiness.

All furniture on doorsets is tested as part of the complete doorset, be this fire resistance, smoke leakage control, enhanced security, acoustics, weathering and thermal transmittance.

This practice ensures consistent and trusted performance.

Certification

Our doorsets are designed and tested to consider all aspects of building regulation, performance criteria and innovation to solve challenges and to improve the living environment for residents.

We design the doorset to meet and to exceed the requirements of building regulations. This is not just for fire resistance and smoke control but also for other aspects of performance criteria.

External fire doorsets need to be UKCA marked and demonstrate compliance with the necessary criteria including fire resistance, smoke control, thermal transmittance, acoustics and weathering.

For enhanced security performance – this is covered through the dual certification scheme for fire resistance and enhanced security.

Acoustics

Urban life can be very noisy, with transport vibration through air, road or rail as well as everyday community interaction and weather conditions. Stone wool offers high density properties and is excellent at noise reduction.

This makes the doorsets an ideal choice for flats in busy housing environments.

Successfully tested to the recognised industry standard BS EN ISO 10140-2, the performance criteria is listed in the Declaration of performance for the doorset, providing a compliant doorset for sound transmission within building regulations.

Light

Where light is a consideration, having a white finish internally can significantly brighten up a hallway. This doorset range offers a selection of styles and the option of an internal colour choice different to the exterior of the doorset.

These Contemporary doorsets offer a insulated glazing unit (IGU), extensively tested as part of overall industry standard doorset tests.

With an obscure finish for privacy, the IGU in the door or side screen/top screen is argon filled with a low emissivity coating to prevent against UV degradation.

It offers excellent attack resistance to level P2A, superior to that required by Secured by Design.

The glazing pane itself offers excellent thermal transmittance performance, contributing to the overall U value of the doorset. U values for external fire doorsets are now 1.8 w/K as per latest Approved Document L 2023 amendment.
