In recognition of having been awarded Q-Mark third party certification for its latest innovative front entrance doorset range, Gerda will be presented with two certificates by Jon Osborn, General Manager – Exova BM TRADA at a ceremony to be held at Firex International on Tuesday 16th June at 16.00 hours on stand C143.

On achieving Q-Mark certification for Gerda's new range of multi-performance external doorsets, Mr Jon Osborn, General Manager, Exova BM Trada commented:

“Since 2006, Gerda has continued to invest in third party certification to ensure the marketplace is delivered high quality products manufactured to a consistent standard. Specifiers recognise the importance of a consistent high standard of manufacturing relative to the product’s initial test performance. Third party certification such as Q-Mark helps to ensure this consistency".

These two awards incorporate Gerda’s latest innovative front entrance doorset range for new build and refurbishment. Tailored for specifiers - the ‘Safer Homes Range’ for both new build and refurbishment deliver all the doorset performance needed for latest building regulations thereby ensuring compliance.

Mr Alastair Thompson, Managing Director, Gerda commented:

"Having continuously been certified under the Q-Mark third party certification scheme for 9 years, is fantastic recognition for us and demonstrates our tireless commitment to on-going product quality. In particular it’s a testament to our employees who share the quality ethos and contribute hugely to achieve this. Design knowledge and experience is crucial when it comes to manufacturing doorsets. It may need to perform for all or several features in a development: Fire; Smoke; Security; Weathering; Durability; Thermal Insulation and Acoustics. To ensure compliance this must be proven. Specifiers need to be confident that doorsets perform to standards that comply with building regulations.”

Gerda recieved prestigious Secured by Design Award

Where: International Firex 2015

Gerda will collect the prestigious Secured by Design Award at International Firex on Thursday 18th June at 10.30 hours on stand C143. National Operations Manager, Mr Jon Cole, Secured by Design will present the certificate in recognition of Gerda’s latest front entrance doorset – certified for Security, whilst incorporating other key criteria for building regulations.

On presenting the award, Mr Jon Cole, National Operations Manager, Secured by Design stated:

“It is a significant time to be receiving the Secured by Design accreditation. Following the Housing Standards Review conducted by the DCLG, the government has now issued a new building regulation for the security of dwellings. Much content of ADQ has been adopted from the Secured by Design requirements. It is extremely important that specifiers and developers can recognise that a product is ADQ compliant whilst also meeting the performance standards required for other building regulations. Test evidence and certification must be checked. With the introduction of new building regulations in housing, it is most important that specifiers and developers can recognise product that is compliant.”

The award incorporates Gerda’s latest innovative front entrance doorset range for new build and refurbishment. Tailored for specifiers - the Safer Homes Range delivers all the doorset performance needed for latest building regulations ensuring compliance.

Mr Alastair Thompson, Managing Director, Gerda commented:

“We have worked with Secured by Design since 1998 and recognise the importance of Security in front entrance doorsets. Gerda’s doorsets have been proven in the most demanding of burglary prevention programmes over the years and the Secured by Design standard has been crucial in reducing crime. Design knowledge and experience is a necessity in a doorset nowadays. It may need to perform for all or several features in a development: Security; Fire; Smoke; Weathering; Durability; Thermal Insulation and Acoustics. To ensure compliance this must be proven. Specifiers need to be confident that doorsets perform to standards that comply with building regulations.”
