The Gerda Barrier Gate Lock® System
The Gerda Barrier Gate Lock® System is a system for restricted or controlled access in urban and rural car park environments, and also areas where restricted access is important for utility/service areas and delivery/despatch areas within rooftop and underground parking areas.
- The system provides effective management of vehicle access with effective key control: an organization can issue keys to individuals (which can be numbered) at different levels of authority or access
- An example within a rural environment: A ranger's key may open all gate locks in the area, a contractors key may only open designated gate locks and the forest fire services or mountain rescue may access all gate locks
- An example within an urban environment: A housing estate manager may open all gate locks; tenants have access only to their gate lock and contractors have access to designated gate locks
- Effectively reduces the problem of abandoned vehicles
- Innovative barrier gate lock system (patented) designed so that the key is not to be removed until gate is closed
- Meets the requirements of EN1303 1998, security grade 5
- Barrier gate lock will fit to existing or new gates
- Low maintenance system - stainless steel lock suitable for various weather conditions
- Key registration system with secure replacement key service
- Accessibility for the Emergency Services as required
The securing of gates within car park areas where there is restricted access can be a difficult challenge to overcome
Problems that occur due to ineffectual securing of access to communal areas can cause additional financial costs and health and safety implications. Fly tipping, stolen vehicles dumped on housing estates, in rural parks etc, are the result of gates left open.
Wide availability of keys and the easy removal of padlocks become security issues
Burnt-out vehicles pose a particular health and safety problem with the fact that brake seals and fuel pipes can contain materials which when burnt, can turn into a highly corrosive acid - Hydrofluoric Acid which is very difficult to remove from the skin. Only professional decontamination will remove this acid safely
As well as dealing with the disposal costs of the vehicles, the social cost is also a high price to pay. The community environment is often threatened with these types of problems making an area look squalid and attracting more crime.
